what are shattered dreams?

Today, my lifelong dream of being on Jeopardy was shattered. How, you may ask? Mike Richards was appointed as the new permanent host. That man has a long history of discriminating against people. My heart is breaking as I write this. I’m sorry to say I’ll never see that dream come true. Thank you to everyone who tried to help me succeed. I’m just sorry I have to disappoint you.

Hi. I'm 22, blind, and not a good writer. I love reading, learning, watching game/quiz shows, and being social. I want to be a contestant on Jeopardy some day.

  1. I’ve had that dream since age 5. It’s possible if I work hard enough for it, more so now that the monster is gone.

  2. Caught between overoptimism and giving up? How about realism?
Not sure if this I am supposed to discuss here, but you know, all those self-improvement books are garbage. Never give up, you can do literally everything you desire, all you need is inspiration and perseverance, there’s always next time, failure is but delayed success unless you give up etc..
Every single one of us has his own characteristics, strenghts and weaknesses, dreams, plans, resources and opportunities, and limits. So what’s the point in insisting on what we may never ever be able to do? And what’s the point in giving up in severe frustration and grief just because we failed? Yes, those books I mentioned do have some truth to them: Not always but often there is next time, and you can better evaluate your situation and do other things rather than focusing on one single thing and pushing too much for it. Just be easy on yourself. We are raised to pretend t be perfect, but we are not.

  3. don’t give up hope mrs, as @2 said there’s next time but you don’t know when. So don’t give up hope please

  4. hey, you’ll be ok, please don’t be sad. there is always next time I believe. maybe you can be apointed the next host this time, please have a good day and don’t give up. because your dream will come true, but you just don’t know when. goodbye for now
